A workshop led by the award-winning Craftspace on the use of craftivism to raise and tackle issues around sexuality and gender, particularly those impacting the LGBT community. Booking required.
Disability and Labelling in the Arts

Local artist Vicky Taylor peppers this lunchtime talk and discussion on disability issues with some of her latest poetry.

Who says colouring-in is just for kids?! Grab some crayons, felt tip pens or coloured pencils and revel in the simple pleasure of bringing colour to some exquisite and sophisticated pattern sheets.

Rag Rug Workshop

This is a simple and satisfying technique for making a gorgeous and colourful rag rug out of old and unwanted garms. Make your own or complete a square on a Super Rug we're creating socially with people from all over the city. Expect hot tea and chatting.

CLOSING PARTY! 2.30pm-4.30pm
After two weeks of art, creativity and play it's time to close the GAP in the Market - for this year at least. We want to mark the moment and take stock with everyone who's participated, eat cake and celebrate! The festivities will be accompanied by the amazing Waste Paper Players, fantastic Lobster frontman Spud and others, and drinks and nibbles will be be provided. And there'll be a chance to view all the amazing work created throughout the festival too.

Katharine Hannaford and Arron Gill present a fascinating photographic study of Birmingham's historical Indoor Market, its traders, produce and customers in this uncertain moment in its existence.
Digital Treasure Trail
Forget Facebook, turn off Twitter and get your Smart phone working harder on this teasing combination of cryptic clues, map co-ordinates and QR codes in a tantalising trail around the market area.
Praise or Grumble Board
We want what everybody has: opinions. Opinions about anything at all, big or small, good or bad, from your absolute love of Ed's 'Coffee of the Day' (only £1 a shot in the stall next door) to your complete despair over the New Library opening times; or from your total frustration with zero hours contracts to your unconditional love for Top Gear. (Ahem). The Praise or Grumble Board is here throughout the GAP in the Market Festival for you to get it all off your chest and to help us create a mood board for Birmingham.
